Wintersemester14/15 bis Sommersemester 2016

This website was in operation for the two year adventure when Tomás Saraceno was professor of ‘The Busch’.

Institut für Architekturbezogene Kunst / Institute for Architecture-related Art

With Saraceno’s multi-disciplinary background, and together with Sasha Engelmann, Natalija Miodragovic, Alan Prohm and Jol Thomson, they challenged traditional concepts of art pedagogy and practice, and focused on developing methods for young creative practitioners in the age of the Anthropo- and Aerocene.

The final semester was themed around the notion of ‘Becoming Pilot’, which we might also think of as fostering ‘response-ability’. The semester and adventure ended with a three day festival of art, music, dancing, and friendship.

The IAK is a space of collective experiment with the radical multi-disciplinarities of art and architecture. At the newly conceived IAK students are supported and challenged to develop strong bases for their creative practice, and to orient themselves as full(est) human beings towards the whole range of real possibilities open to them as architects, as artists, and as citizens of a complex networked world.
